Sutherland Shire

The Sutherland Shire to Sydney Airport: one region, 13 fixed fares

We run fixed-price, door-to-door airport transfers across every one of the 13 suburbs in the Sutherland Shire. Fares start at $99 one-way and every price on this page is set before you travel: no surge, no meter, no airport pickup loading. The region sits roughly 26–35 km from Sydney (Kingsford Smith) Airport depending on the suburb, a drive of about 32–40 minutes when the roads are clear. Because those figures move so much across the area, we publish a separate fixed fare for each suburb rather than one regional rate. Whether you need a sedan for two or a shuttle bus for eleven, the vehicle is confirmed when you book, not allocated on the morning.

The road out of the Sutherland Shire

Shire transfers use one of two approaches. From Engadine, Sutherland, Kirrawee and the Princes Highway corridor we run north on the Princes Highway and President Avenue into the airport. From the western side of the shire, around Menai, Illawong, Alfords Point and Bangor, the trip crosses the Alfords Point Bridge and picks up the M5 East instead. Distances sit between roughly 26 and 35 km, and the Princes Highway approach through Sutherland and Kirrawee is the section most affected by weekday peaks.

Fixed pricing

What a Sutherland Shire shuttle bus costs, suburb by suburb

Across the Sutherland Shire the fixed one-way fare to Sydney Airport runs from $99 to $199, and the spread reflects distance rather than demand. A sedan carrying one to four passengers is priced between $99 and $169 depending on the suburb, a minivan for five or six between $119 and $179, and a bus for seven to eleven between $129 and $199. Those figures include tolls, fuel and airport fees. The only additions are a 1.8% surcharge if you choose to pay by card, and $10 on top of the equivalent airport fare if you are travelling to a cruise terminal instead. A group of seven to eleven travels together in one shuttle bus rather than being split across two cars. You pay the driver at the end of the trip, so nothing is charged when you book.

What makes the Sutherland Shire different to drive

The shire is separated from the rest of Sydney by the Georges River and the national park, and there are only a handful of crossings. That geography is why the western suburbs use the Alfords Point Bridge and the eastern ones use the Princes Highway, and it is also why a delay on one of those crossings matters more here than an equivalent delay would elsewhere. We plan pickups with that in mind.

Rail exists but is awkward for flights. The Cronulla line reaches the airport with a change and the station access fee applies, and the first services of the morning do not suit early international departures. For a family or a couple with checked luggage, a single fixed-price car door to terminal is usually both simpler and, once fares and the access fee are counted, competitive.

This is also strong cruise territory. Shire households are regular cruise passengers, and both White Bay and the Overseas Passenger Terminal at Circular Quay are comfortable runs from here. A cruise transfer is priced ten dollars above the equivalent airport fare, with the same fixed-price, pay-after-the-trip arrangement.

Western Sydney International from the Sutherland Shire

Western Sydney International at Badgerys Creek opens to passengers on 25 October 2026 and we will run transfers from the first day. From the Sutherland Shire the drive to WSI is roughly 30–38 km, about 35–43 minutes, against 26–35 km to Kingsford Smith. WSI fares are quoted individually because the distances are so different from the Kingsford Smith run.

Cruise terminals

Cruise passengers are covered on the same basis. From the Sutherland Shire the Overseas Passenger Terminal at Circular Quay is about 31–40 km and White Bay is about 30–39 km. A cruise transfer is priced at $10 above the equivalent airport fare for your suburb and vehicle, and we time the pickup to your boarding window rather than a flight.

How a booking works

Booking works the same way everywhere in the region. Tell us the pickup address, the date and your flight number. We confirm a fixed price and an exact pickup time, worked back from the flight so you reach the terminal roughly two hours before an international departure and 75 to 90 minutes before a domestic one. On the day the driver arrives at your door, handles the luggage and drives straight through with no shared stops. On the return leg we monitor the inbound flight in real time, adjust automatically if you are delayed and meet you at the terminal pick-up point. Child seats, capsules and boosters are available on request, and reasonable flight delays are not charged.
